GBS student brings joy to Sierra Leone
We are very proud of one of our students who organized a football tournament for children in Sierra Leone.
Emmanuel Sesay is currently a final year student at our Barcelona Campus. As he is originally from Sierra Leone, he has witnessed first-hand the devastating effects the mudslides and the deadly Ebola outbreak have had on this country.
Affected by these disasters Emmanuel decided he wanted to make a positive impact on the lives of many as possible. He chose to organize a football tournament for children who have lost their friends and families, he was able to put what he had learnt into practice.
Planning this event required a lot of effort and determination, as Emmanuel organized everything from Barcelona to be set up in time for his arrival.
When Emmanuel reached out to his teacher, this was relayed to the Campus Director who was able to support by means of sponsorship. In addition, there was a collection box installed where students and staff members could help this great cause.
We’re sure the football tournament brought a lot of joy to the lives of children who have lost so much, thank you Emmanuel for your big heart and amazing determination.
