Our 4th GBSessions is on May 22nd!


On the 4th GBSessions you will get the chance to broaden your horizon with top-notch speakers who are sharing their personal and professional expertise and leading the sessions with topics such as Art and Design, humanities, fundraising, politics, sports media and sports management

Here is all the information you need to know about the upcoming GBSessions:

15:30 – 16:00: Please note that there will be a networking session between both talks. Both speakers will be present during the break and the students in attendance have the chance to chat with them informally over a coffee, asking any burning questions they might have.

Guest Speaker: Joan Abelló

Topic: Art business spectrum in Catalunya

As an art critic, collaborating with higher art and design schools and universities in Italy, the US and Spain, our speaker will be discussing his work and experience in contemporary arts exhibitions and being a part of the Barcelona Royal Artistic Circle and he is the Head of Protocol and Institutional Relations.

About the speaker

Joan Abelló Juanpere has a DEA (Master in Advanced Studies) in Catalan Philology from the University of Barcelona and a Ph.D. in Humanities from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). He has a degree in Cultural Management and Fundraising (ESADE Business School, Barcelona).

Guest Speaker: Sitapha Savane

Topic: Media relations and communication in sport

As a professional basketball player, Sitapha will be talking about his journey of starting a career when he was 18-year old in sports in Spain, half of them with Gran Canaria team, where he was recently named ‘Adopted son of the Island’ by the council for “his sportsmanship and social work.” He also went through and left a mark in 2 historical clubs such as Joventut de Badalona and Estudiantes where he retired a year ago.

About the speaker

Born in Dakar, Senegal in 1978, he is the son of a politician father and former minister in Senegal after decade struggling for democracy, and an activist mother and high official in several UN agencies. He grew up in Dakar before living in Geneva, New York, and graduated from the Naval Academy in Annapolis in 2000. Sitapha was not a Spanish born but played most of his matches for the Spanish league.

He is currently studying an executive MBA at ESCP Europe and working at Movistar + as an analyst while continuing his social work as an activist and his business projects focused on connecting more Spain and Africa.
