The impact of MMV on the fight against malaria
10th May 2019
We are honored to welcome Neil McCarthy, Vice President, Head of External Relations at the NGO MMV (Medicines for Malaria Ventures).
MMV, a non-profit public/private partnership, was established as a foundation in Switzerland in 1999. Its mission is to reduce the burden of malaria in disease-endemic countries by discovering, developing and facilitating the delivery of new, effective and affordable antimalarial drugs. MMV’s vision is a world in which these innovative medicines will cure and protect the vulnerable and under-served populations at risk of malaria, and help to ultimately eradicate this terrible disease.
Neil will be sharing his experience as a recognized innovator and organizational level strategist with senior level expertise from the Non-profit and Private sectors in the areas of resource mobilization, external relations, business development, marketing, organizational transformational change, and communications.
About the speaker:
Neil worked with governments, the world’s leading philanthropic foundations, private industry and individuals to build upon the organizations first 15 years of bringing much-needed drugs to malaria sufferers in endemic countries. He also developed and implemented the “25by25” fundraising strategy to provide the World Heart Federation with a sustainable income source.
