Hotdesk partners with Dubai Government to revolutionize remote work

Alumni startup brings co-working to DED Trader License holders

Alumni startup accelerating the global movement to #workfromanywhere

Mohamed El Sarrag, Geneva Business School Alumni and co-founder of the startup company Hotdesk has had a big year despite the global pandemic and we love to share a success story from our graduates especially when they are disrupting new markets and innovating for a better world.

More than a year ago Mohamed and his team launched Hotdesk. The launch took place at Geneva Business School’s Barcelona campus, since then the startup has consistently reached new levels of success and marks its first year with a huge milestone.

Hotdesk raised a $35K pre-seed round from a Bahraini accelerator named Flat6labs and are now raising a seed round from different investors in the MENA region; They hired new team members with backgrounds from PwC and iconic startups such as Uber, Uber Eats, and Google. Their most recent accomplishment is a partnership with Dubai’s government in which Hotdesk will be the main provider of coworking spaces for SMEs and freelancers in Dubai once they receive their license from Dubai’s DED (Department of Economic Development).

The Business Registration and Licensing (BRL) sector of Dubai Economy has partnered with Hotdesk to help DED Trader License holders find and book flexible office spaces on the go by the hour, day, or month in Dubai using the Hotdesk App.
This partnership comes as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen joint cooperation between public and private sectors to support the youth who play an important role in driving the growth of the local economy, as well as the global shift towards the concept of “working from anywhereâ€.

The Hotdesk team will provide DED Trader license holders with marketing, administrative and organizational support. DED Trader license holders will also be eligible for exclusive discounts off all bookings with Hotdesk.

Read more about the partnership in the Dubai Government announcement here.

The partnership with Hotdesk will actively contribute to supporting Dubai’s enterprises and freelancers by offering efficient coworking spaces. The agreement reflects the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote the youth

-Ahmad Alshaer, Senior Manager, Development & Follow UP division in the BRL sector.
