What is Program Accreditation and why is it so important?

Geneva Business School maintains its quality of education through professional accreditations with some of the world’s most respected organizations.

What to expect when you expect the best

Being professionally accredited is what sets you apart from other higher education institutions, and at Geneva Business School, we pride ourselves on the recognition we have achieved with various esteemed accrediting bodies.

As a leading Swiss private institution, we are dedicated to shaping world-changing leaders while combining the US system for accreditation and quality control, the European (Bologna) system for credits (ECTS), and the Swiss grading system. The numerous international accreditations that we hold to ensure that our institution and programs are in line with the quality-control benchmarks of other high-quality Business schools around the world.

At the outset, it is important for all of us to acknowledge some of the existing differences between a University and a Business School. As a cornerstone, we can state that while the formers have traditionally followed – and continue to follow – a much more theoretical approach towards education, the latter was created in order to put an end to the lack of practical knowledge shown by new graduates by the time they had to face the real business world. Therefore, Business Schools are more specialized in the field of business and management and they emphasize more the practical and pragmatic aspects of education rather than its theoretical applications. Obviously, theory is equally valuable as it works as the foundation upon which all new knowledge is built, but project-based learning is essential when preparing for the modern workplace.

We strive to ensure that Geneva Business School maintains its quality assurance through the different types of accreditations we hold with some of the world’s most respected organizations. We are proud to be professionally accredited by three main accrediting bodies (IACBE, AASBI, and EDUQUA)

In 2020 we hold the following accreditations:

  • Our programs are accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).

IACBE is the leading outcomes-based professional accreditation agency for business and management education in colleges and universities whose primary purpose is excellence in teaching and learning.

  • The Association of Accredited Schools of Business International (AASBI) is a global accreditor of qualified business schools worldwide that serve the public interest with academically rich and diverse student bodies.

They provide culturally relevant professional learning experiences in stimulating environments that guarantee freedom of expression and other basic human rights.

  • Since 2003, Geneva Business School has been certified by EDUQUA, a Swiss quality label for further education institutions.

In the EduQua certification process, institutions offering continuous adult education are eligible for certification.

Our accreditations are the result of our mission to promote quality in all aspects of our school and give our students the confidence to study in a leading academic environment. Read more about our accreditations here.
