GBS student Amy Wanday, founder of The African Sports Network, attends Leadership Congress for Women in Football
We are pleased to share that our BBA in Sports Management and Marketing student Amy Wanday in Barcelona Campus, had the opportunity to attend the Leadership Congress for Women in Football at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on the 28th and 29th of March 2019.
Amy was inspired and had a great insight by being in the same room as the President of LaLiga, the President of Atletico Madrid, and many powerful women in the sports industry, who are committed to creating sustainable equal opportunities for women within the football sector.
After reflecting on the event, Amy said: “I was challenged to stop complaining about the things in my industry that I am concerned about, and instead step up and make a difference. For as long as I stay complaining, I remain part of the problem, and if I can be part of the solution. This was a very powerful message which I believe is beneficial to implement throughout my life generally. I am immensely grateful to Geneva Business School for making such a valuable opportunity accessible to me.”
Amy was nominated as one of the 100 most influential young Kenyans in 2018. Amy is also the founder of the African Sports Network, a support system for African students to excel in school as well as in sports.
