Although classes at Geneva Business School start on September 23, many of our Sports Management students will be outside the classroom on September 24 and 25, for the World Football Summit in Madrid, Spain. Led by our Sports Management Sector Specialist, Frank Hendrickx, the two-day event is a perfect opportunity to make contacts and discover more about sports management career paths. Follow the event live on our Instagram story.
This huge event welcomes top organizations, from FIFA and UEFA to Facebook, La Liga, and Champions League winners, Liverpool FC. Students will see the industry’s exclusive advances and trends as they stop at the stands of leading sports management companies. Not only will this help with their studies, but also give them an insight into their careers in sports management.
World Football Summit: An Unmissable Networking Opportunity
Our students will have privileged access to unparalleled business and networking opportunities in the world’s biggest sport industry. Events like the World Football Summit help students get a foot in the door with top companies they may want to do an internship with or join on a full-time basis after graduation.
But it’s not just about making contacts. There will be talks from top-quality speakers about all sides of the industry. Speakers in 2018 included Andrea Agnelli, President of Juventus FC, Ronaldo Nazario, former elite football player and World Cup winner, Javier Tebas, President of La Liga, and many more. Their contribution creates an all-round vision of the business side of football and highlights the lesser-known details of the industry. Check out this list of all the confirmed speakers so far, and the depth and breadth of topics discussed.
Finally, a World Football Summit awards ceremony will celebrate the top talents from all areas of the sports management industry. Categories include the Best Executive, the Most Creative Campaign and the Best International Strategy, among many more. The fierce competition in football pushes the standard higher every year, making it one of the most innovative industries today. No doubt, the winners of these awards will serve to inspire both our BIBM and MBA in Sports Management students.
