GBS´s professors, Tugba Kalafatoglu, welcomed guest speaker Mariana Féged Cuéllar, entrepreneur and business development professional at her Sustainable Business class.
Mariana spoke about her startup L’Autre Sac. A handbag ethical fashion brand working with environmentally friendly materials. L’Autre Sac carries out its production in Bogota, Colombia, where it employs women with physical disabilities. The Company is committed to the empowerment of women through employment and education and therefore has also developed a grant to financially support young women from vulnerable communities in Colombia and enable them to access high school education. Mariana has combined her non-profit and corporate experiences and wishes to contribute to society and to the environment with a sustainable and profitable business.
About the speaker:
Mariana was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. She has a B.A in International Relations from Georgetown University and a Masters in Political Science from the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris.
After beginning her professional life in the non-profit sector, Mariana joined a German Multinational Corporation in 2004, where she carried out several managerial roles in business development, digitization and developing digital businesses. After 14 years with the Company, she left her role as VP of Innovation and launched her own business: L’Autre Sac.
