We are delighted to invite you to the Research Webinar by our doctorate students that will take place on the 18th of July at 10 am Geneva time.

Research webinar series showcases research conducted at GBS and facilitates the professional development of faculty and students in the research area.

The webinar will be led by 2nd-year doctorate students Assel Narymbetova and Abzal Narymbetov, who will present their research and answer the questions.

The webinar is part of the doctorate program to ensure the progress of students and is open to faculty members and students interested in research. Discussions and feedback to presentations are most welcomed.

 The webinar will cover the fundamentals of research, including:

 The webinar will be presented by Dr. Oliver Elliott, DBA program manager, member of GBS Research Committee and a researcher specializing in historical and international relations studies.

We are excited to announce that the research project “The Hard Soft and Smart Model” led by Prof. Dag Flachet and group of researchers in Barcelona has approached the final stage and the results of the study will be presented on research webinar on 12th of February at 10 am (Geneva time).   

The study aimed at testing hypotheses formulated based on Hard, Soft and Smart Leadership Model. The Hard Soft and Smart Model is a way to analyze and visualize the sources of motivation within a company and was developed based on experience and open conversations with contributors and business leaders.

A few months ago we had Prof. Dag present on a webinar about his data collection tool and process and this time we will learn what has been found about motivation and if the hypotheses posed in the study were accepted or rejected.

Research Committee is happy to invite you to the research webinar that will take place on the 13th of December, 11 am Geneva time.

Dr. Ryan Federo will discuss the configurational approach, which has gained momentum in management research during the past decade. He will explain its roots on set theory to understand how different interdependent conditions combine together to produce a specific outcome. He will also describe the three logics of causal complexity (conjunction, equifinality, and asymmetry) that is used when adopting this research approach.

 Dr. Anissa Ikououbel will talk about research methodologies specifically focusing on designing and conducting a qualitative inquiry.

The seminar is open to faculty members and students interested in research. Discussions and feedback to presentations are mostly welcomed.

Dr. Jaime de Melo will present about the opportunities in using international databases for research studies. Dr. Mariana Alba will present an upcoming book «Sports and Development» with the focus on covered issues, discussions, and contributors to the book.

The consultancy teams work under the supervision of Marketing courses lecturers – high profile consultants, who provide continuous support and feedback to course participants throughout the project.

The start of the project is planned for January 2018. The project duration is three months with a final presentation in April 2019. We invite companies to participate in the project on a free basis. The company is required to submit company profile and client brief by November 1st for approval to the Program Director (research@gbsge.com).

Why participate in the consultancy project?

  • Experienced students working on the project under the guidance of faculty members
  • Detailed analysis of the current situation, practical recommendations and action plan developed as a result of the project
  • Optimal cost-benefit approach to gaining value from cooperation with GBS
  • Course participants will produce a written three-parts group report to a professional standard and make an oral presentation to the client organization on completion of the project.
