GBS supports student research by providing learning opportunities, resources, encouraging collaboration and raising the visibility of student research. Students may participate in faculty research projects or conduct their own. Students conducting research on their own are assigned with the faculty advisor who supports them throughout the research process. Currently, there are a few established ways to support student research at GBS.
Research Webinars are monthly seminars organized by the Research Committee to give hands-on skills and knowledge of different aspects of research and to show how research can help to solve real-world business issues. Announcements of upcoming research seminars are made in the Research Newsletter.
Award for Student Research
With the aim to encourage GBS students to produce the highest quality final projects and also to support students further in gaining visibility for their work as well as in continuing research, a prize for the best student final project was introduced. The winners of the prize get awarded on graduation ceremony and are formally invited to work with a member of GBS faculty to further advance the study and get published.
Funding for Conference Participation
Students who conduct research in GBS are eligible to apply for funding to cover the cost of presenting their work at the conference. Upon application approval, the school covers transportation, up to two nights of lodging and three days of meals. Applications must be submitted at least one month prior to travel.
This collection includes Honours research theses conducted by GBS students within the last two years (2017-2018). For full-text access please, contact research[at]gbsge.com.
If you have any question regarding any of these resources, please contact Research Committee via email@example.com
Research Application Process
When we receive your application it will be considered at the next meeting of our Research Committee unless there is an urgent time issue in which case we may agree to consider it between meetings. If the decision is made to grant funding a member of the Research Committee will be appointed as your key contact and they will offer support and guidance until the conclusion of your project.
Please note that only projects that clearly align with our values and our current priorities will be considered. In addition support is given contingent on the public recognition of the role of GBS in each successful project. This support must be acknowledged in all publications, conferences and any other avenue of dissemination for the work.
We want to collaborate with researchers who share our values and our fields of interest, but we will only give very modest grants to applications that have already secured or are in the process of securing funding from other research bodies, companies or institutions.
Our Research Committee, formed by research coordinators from around our campus network, considers applications for funding every April and October. To enter the process you need to complete this online application form.
