Where: GBS Barcelona campus

Guest Speaker: Mr. Sleiman Aoun

Topic: The Middle East: A region with huge potential – A glance into the Oil & Gas Industry

A word from Mr. Aoun:

“The twin pressures of declining oil prices (and accordingly revenues) and the need to create more jobs have increased the urgency of diversification in the economies of the Middle Eastern Oil dependant countries.

Saudi Arabia, the biggest Oil producing country in the region, understood the importance of shifting its dependency on the black gold, and initiated the Saudi Vision 2030, a plan to reduce Saudi Arabia’s dependence on oil, diversify its economy, and develop public service sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, recreation and tourism. This inevitably created a room for immense financial and employment growth to support this industrial landscape shift.”

About the speaker:

Mr. Aoun has over six years of experience working in the Oil & Gas industry and has held many positions, including Senior Project Engineer and Deputy Project Manager, at Petrofac, a leading provider of oilfield services to the international Oil & Gas industry. Mr. Aoun has worked alongside companies such as SHELL, Saudi Aramco, Kuwait Oil Company, GE, and many more. He is currently undergoing a Master’s degree at IESE Business School in Barcelona.
