GBS Students Score Direct Access to Football’s Elite at WFS Madrid on the 15th & 16th of October

Geneva Business School delegation gains actionable career insights from New Balance, Juventus, and top agency executives.

Thirty-three students from our Geneva Business School campuses recently experienced an unforgettable week at the World Football Summit (WFS) in Madrid. They secured unparalleled access to the football industry’s top executives, gaining crucial real-world insights and making valuable connections right in the heart of the game.

Surprise Masterclass & Exclusive Front-Row Seating

The week was packed with high-level learning opportunities, highlighted by a surprise masterclass led by the New Balance leadership team: Andrew McGarty (Global Football – Sports Marketing Director) and Chris Davis (Brand President and CMO).

This session was a major draw among many exclusive opportunities students had with industry heavyweights, including: Mayur Bhanji (Chief Communications Officer, Raiola Global Management), Luis Vicente (Chairman, APEX Capital), Kike Levy (NJF Holdings), and Marco Castellaneta (Marketing Director, Juventus FC).

Students also connected with Eymeric Moura (Excel Search & Advisory), Iñaki Zoco (Catenon), and Juan Andrés Villamil (Futbol Jobs), with networking continuing at the Afterwork by Mahou.

The Playbook for Future Leaders

GBS students walked away with critical, attributed advice—a virtual playbook for navigating the dynamic sports landscape.

The New Balance team delivered a powerful Career Mantra: “Go for the gap, get a start somewhere, a foot in the door and build from there and work super hard.” This advice was mirrored by Mayur Bhanji, who urged students to be proactive: ‘Take your opportunities – work hard, be willing to listen, and take any relevant work experience opportunities, it’ll support your education but also help you get ahead of the curve for the future.’

The sessions also illuminated Growth Areas and current disruptions in the industry. Luis Vicente highlighted that opportunities are huge in new leagues (Ballers, Kings), women’s football, and digital new frontiers (esports, fintech & sports). On the topic of Digital Disruption, Kike Levy explained how the TikTok revolution means ‘the real revolution came from a movement from content based on a social graph to content based on an Interest graph.’

Geneva Business School is incredibly proud of its students for representing the school and engaging with the future of sports. A big thank you goes out to all the speakers and the entire WFS team for their time and commitment to the next generation of sports leaders!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our guest speakers for the quality and generosity of their contributions. Their availability, expertise, and insightful advice provided our students with a valuable and inspiring learning experience :
