World Football Summit, 2024

Students Make Industry Connections, Learn from Professionals, and Gain Job Opportunities.

Industry Connections

2,500 Attendees. 300 Clubs, Leagues & Federations. 150 Speakers. Those are the numbers for the World Football Summit, Europe.

The Future of Football. A New Era of Broadcasting. The Importance of Female Role Models. Just a few of the panel discussions that were on show.

As the ultimate industry event, the WFS in Sevilla was a unique opportunity for students to learn about the world of business around football, to network and make connections.

Learning from Professionals

With exclusive access to Meet & Greet, Masterclass, and Job Match sessions, students from Geneva Business School gained real industry insights.

As the Head of Women in Football, Ebru Koksal shared her inspiring career journey from being a Financial Analyst at Morgan Stanley to General Secretary of the Turkish Football Federation.

Former professional footballer, Arianna Criscione spoke about the leadership qualities needed to succeed as the CEO of Valeur Sport, a salary benchmarking platform that aims to level up the gender pay gap.

And another ex pro, Chloe Morgan gave a fantastic masterclass from her perspective as Head of She’s a Baller, a media agency that covers all aspects of the women’s football space.

From finance and data to content and media, students learnt from professionals in the industry. As the organizer of the partnership with WFS and Academic Coordinator at our Barcelona campus, Gregory Shields said:

There’s so many ancillary businesses around football and sport. It’s a huge sector. Students coming to the World Football Summit get to hear first-hand from industry professionals and get a real sense of the opportunities.

Networking Opportunities

All of the speakers outlined the importance of networking as a way of getting a foot in the door to the football industry. And the World Football Summit presents plenty of these opportunities.

As well as all the speakers and attendees representing hundreds of organizations within the world of football, there was a specific Job Match session for students to have one-to-one meetings with industry professionals. As one student said:

The masterclass was inspiring. And the job match was amazing. I’ve never met such dedicated professionals before, I learnt so much about the business world around football, and I got a couple of job offers!
